Job Description
A Medical Surgical/Cardiac Neuro RN is sought for a stroke and neurology unit in Sanford, FL. The unit is a 26-bed floor serving cardiac, stroke, and medical-surgical patients on a night shift with rotating weekends.
The role. Working within an interdisciplinary team on a 26-bed Stroke/Neuro and Med/Surg floor, the RN collects and analyzes comprehensive patient assessment data to determine diagnoses, develop individualized care plans, and identify expected outcomes. The nurse monitors critical vital signs to enable timely intervention in life-threatening situations and serves as an active advocate for patient safety throughout the care continuum. Patient education is a meaningful part of this role nurses routinely counsel patients on medications, procedures, and treatment plans. The unit uses Baxter pumps, GE Telemetry, vital sign machines, and a bladder scanner, with documentation in Meditech; patient ratios run 1:6.
What we're looking for.
- 1 year of Recent (within the last year or 2) Acute Care RN Med-Surg/Tele experience REQUIRED.
- Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain FL license.
- Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree; BSN is preferred.
- NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of start.
- American Heart Association ACLS Provider issued card required within 6 months of employment start date.
Schedule. Nights with rotating weekends.
Compensation. $30.75 - $44.68/hr plus $5,000 sign-on bonus
