Job Description:

The Nurse Care Coordinator is a registered or licensed nursing professional responsible for the development and coordination of lactation services, breastfeeding education, and clinical support programs within the Women's Center. Utilizing a patient-centered approach, this role provides lactation education and support to pregnant and postpartum patients and their families, coordinates care for patients and/or mother-infant couplets, and promotes positive maternal and infant health outcomes through collaboration with providers. Inpatient/outpatient rounding.

Education:

  • Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program 
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing

Experience: 

  • Required: Previous experience with Electronic Health Records
  • Required: IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)
  • Preferred: Minimum 2 years clinical experience assisting breastfeeding families 
  • Preferred: 2-3 years obstetric, perinatal, or related experience 

Skills:
Excellent telephone and interpersonal communication skills 
Ability to multi-task and prioritize; strong organizational skills 
Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology 
Computer experience required 


Licensure/Certification/Registration: 

  • Required: RN License active in the state of Missouri
  • Required: IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)
