RN - Cath Lab - 10-hour, Days (7a-5:30p)

Our client is currently seeking a RN – Cath Lab – 10‑Hour, Days (7a–5:30p)

Location:Baton Rouge, LA
Shift: Day Shift (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Schedule: Four 10‑hour shifts per week (40 hours)
Call: Weeknights, weekends, and holidays required
Worker Type: Temporary / Travel (13‑week assignment)

This is a temporary Travel RN position within a Cardiology Cath Services department. The RN supports diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including coronary, electrophysiology (EP), and vascular cases, and functions as a clinical leader while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Deliver patient care using the Nursing Process in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice
• Support diagnostic and interventional coronary, EP, and vascular procedures
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation
• Delegate and direct care to licensed and ancillary team members
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes
• Maintain accountability for patient care, safety, and procedural outcomes
• Utilize clinical data and knowledge to evaluate and promote best practices
• Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in patient interactions
• Perform additional related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education and/or Certification Requirement

• Required: Registered Nurse Diploma
• Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Required: Active RN license in state of practice
• Required: BLS (American Heart Association)
• Required: ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Preferred: Certification in clinical specialty area

Experience Requirement

• Required: Minimum 2+ years of Cath Lab or Cardiac procedural experience

Management Requirement

• Ability to function independently while serving as a clinical leader on shift
• Experience delegating and directing care team members

Process Oversight Requirement

• Accountability for patient safety and quality outcomes
• Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory standards
• Adherence to Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct

Specific Skills Requirement

• Competency in diagnostic and interventional coronary, EP, and vascular procedures
• Experience with conscious sedation
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills
• Ability to demonstrate sound clinical judgment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Additional Requirements

• CPI system‑required but NOT clinically required (upload a document stating CPI not required)
• Willingness to take on‑call coverage for nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to meet physical demands, including heavy lifting
• Routine exposure to blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases
• Potential exposure to hazardous medications or waste
