Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:   The Cath Lab Holding nurse works under the supervision of the Cath Lab Manager, CV Services Director, and designees. The Cath Lab Holding RN will work in the Cath Lab Holding area, primarily responsible for pre- and post- procedure care of patients. 

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

1. Cardiac Catheterization Lab 

1. Pre- and post- procedure care for a variety of patients, including but not limited to: cardiac catheterization (diagnostic and interventional), peripheral angiograms (diagnostic and interventional), dialysis access procedures and line placements, TEEs, cardioversions, loop recorder implantations, electrophysiology studies and procedures, pacemaker and ICD placements. 

1. Sheath removal 

1. Coordinating with local offices and hospitals to schedule procedures and obtain appropriate patient information 

1. Prepare charts for the following day 

1. Call patients the day before scheduled procedures to provide instructions 

1. Coordinate internally with hospital staff and departments including hospital units, anesthesia, and Diagnostics to optimize patient care and workflow (including bed placement and scheduling of procedures 

1. Ordering and inventory maintenance of necessary office supplies and paperwork 

1. Weekend call coverage for inpatient TEEs 

B.Cardiac Stress Lab 

1. Administer stress tests 

1. Place Holter monitors, Zio patches, and other monitors and patches, as well as generate reports 

1. Ordering and inventory maintenance of supplies 

1. Input charges timely and accurately 

1. Coordinate internally with hospital staff and departments including hospital units and physicians to expedite effective inpatient and outpatient flow 

1. Weekend call coverage for stress lab 

Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Nursing

Registered Nurse state of NH

1-3 years related experience

ECMO Certification within one year of hire
