The Charge Nurse provides care and education for the patient based on their illness, symptoms, and courses of treatment. Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess and diagnose patient and family needs to provide quality care.
Develop, discuss and communicate plan of care.
Demonstrate skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.
Evaluate identified problems, care provided and patient response and take appropriate action.
Maintain timely and accurate documentation and complete audits for the unit as necessary.
Assumes responsibility for daily personnel assignment/monitoring patient care and overall unit activities, in accordance with established standards.
Supports Professional Governance through engagement and support of the Unit Based Council and other nursing councils.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred or
Associates Degree Nursing Required or
Technical Diploma/Certificate Nursing Required
Minimum Work Experience
1-3 years Clinical Nursing Experience Required
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state license Upon Hire Required and
BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate (OCIC_ONS/ONCC) Upon Hire Required
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Demonstrated proficiency in clinical nursing, knowledge, and skills. (High proficiency)
