POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision from the Director of Nursing or Lead Medical Provider at WHC, the RN Clinic Coordinator (RNCC) relates effectively with other health providers and nursing staff to ensure continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments; participates in all phases of education, patient advocacy, maintenance of records and implementation and understanding of policies, procedures and skills of personnel. Duties will require travel to other sites for support as needed or assistance with training. Assists the Nursing Director and other providers in the development and maintenance of standards consistent with the level of care set within the scope of the Nursing Practices Act and maintains standards consistent with the level of care set by Title 22.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The list that follows is not intended as a comprehensive list, but rather to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) will be required to perform a variety of duties listed, including but not limited to:

- Provide supervision of nursing staff, guidance, and coaching as needed to ensure that all are working to their fullest potential within their scope.

- Provide training and education of new workflows and treatments to nursing staff to ensure understanding and competency in job duties and skills.

- Provide accountability to staff who demonstrate deficiency that impact their job duties and team.

- Creates a working climate of open communication, acceptance, and that provides growth and job satisfaction of personnel.

- Provides the best possible nursing care by planning, organizing and directing the nursing functions of patients of the organization.

- Makes nursing assignments appropriate to the skill level of the employees.

- Participates in planning changes and improvements.

- Arranges to have needed supplies and equipment on hand and maintains standards of cleanliness and organization within the medical clinic area.

- Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel.

- Nursing Triage of clinic patients, screening and treatments.

- Assists in the evaluation of the performance of nursing personnel and competency to ensure patient care, staff relations and efficiency of service, with recommendations for appropriate action.

- Assists in reviewing and providing feedback on clinic policies and procedures.

- Maintain cost effectiveness of programs, recommending improvements to provide better utilization of personnel and resources.

- Attends all trainings, meetings and conferences as required, including continuing education in order to provide the highest quality of care to the patient population and to maintain a current and active license.

- Assist providers with follow-up of all abnormal test results.

- Assists staff with the understanding of immunization schedules for pediatric and adult population, uphold compliance with VFC guidelines, and management of immunizations.

- Meet deadlines for duties and assigned projects in a timely, efficient manner.

- Participates in ongoing quality improvement monitoring and activities.

- Identify victims of child and adult abuse, assault and domestic violence and provide intervention, make referrals as necessary and report to appropriate agency.

- Travel to other locations for training, coverage, or other business needs as directed and per NVIH procedures.

- Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required for an employee to successfully perform their duties.

- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; preferably with a Bachelor of Science degree.

- Current and active licensure by the California State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.

- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a RN; at least one (1) year of ambulatory outpatient experience preferred

- Demonstrated competency in technology and application of apps use

- Leadership skills with the ability to motive, inspire, coach, counsel and ensure team effectiveness; previous supervisory experience desired

- Demonstrate a combination of maturity, judgment, experience and confidence to practice independently in a variety of challenging situations; to seek and use supervision and consultation as appropriate.

- Ability to work productively with individuals and with professional and other groups within the community;

- Skill in efficiently planning and execute work, demonstrated organizational skills which produce efficient results; to exercise good judgment;

- Communicate effectively with tact and diplomacy with individuals and groups both orally and in writing.

- Demonstrate awareness, sensitivity and appreciation of Indian culture, traditions, customs and socioeconomic needs.

- Ability to learn and adapt, supervise and direct others, display concern and initiative, and be resourceful and calm in emergencies.

- Reliable transportation to engage in regular attendance and travel between sites as necessary.
