PeaceHealth is seeking a RN Clinic for a Part Time 0.50 FTE Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $47.24 - $74.95. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

Job Summary:

Provides professional nursing care to patients in the clinic outpatient setting in compliance with professional practice standards. Promotes a collaborative interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families, and all members of the care delivery team.

Essential Functions:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs. This includes assessing patients condition, triaging patient phone calls, counseling patients, providing patient education, taking patient histories, administering prescribed medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds, and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
  • Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
  • Participates in the development of and maintains established policies, procedures, and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection prevention programs.
  • Demonstrates competence in making professional judgements pertaining to patient care.
  • May screen and prioritize patient telephone or walk-in inquiries concerning their medical care, prescription refills, and insurance authorizations and referrals.
  • Evaluates and responds appropriately to urgent or emergency situations.
  • Will perform environmental services, security assistance, and emergency response duties as needed.
  • Successfully completes the non-violent Crisis Intervention CPI course during orientation and renews training as outlined in policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Accredited School of Nursing Required

Experience: 1 year Preferred Registered nurse Credentials Required Registered Nurse in state of practice and Required Upon Hire Basic Life Support and Preferred Upon Hire Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient-family centered work environment Required
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office applications Required
  • Effective prioritization skills Required
  • Ability to provide health education to patients, staff, and community Required
  • Knowledge of Medicare, JCAHO, DNV & HCFA regulations pertaining to ambulatory care Required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patients needs. Required

Working Conditions:

  • Lifting: Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices NIOSH.
  • Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
  • Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force, i.e. WOW medical carts.
  • Performing hands-on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA.
  • Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
  • Bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, kneeling frequently.
  • Lifting non-patient up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
  • Environmental Conditions: Exposure to biohazard body fluids and airborne particles. Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment. Mental/Visual: Vision and hearing required within normal limits. Glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted. Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
