    Description

A 585+ bed hospital in Kansas City, MO — home to a Level I Trauma Center and a Primary Stroke Center — is seeking a full-time RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge) for its Med-Surg unit.

The role. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) leads shift-level operations on the Med-Surg unit, directing, monitoring, and evaluating nursing care in alignment with established policies and procedures while serving as a go-to clinical resource for staff. The CNC actively participates in ongoing quality assessment of patient care services in collaboration with the broader management team, and supports admission and discharge processes to promote efficient throughput. This role also carries staffing responsibilities — assisting with scheduling, managing labor in accordance with patient care needs and productivity guidelines, and contributing to the hiring, onboarding, and development of new team members. Operationalizing nursing engagement strategies such as employee rounding and hourly rounds is a consistent expectation of the position.

    What we're looking for.

    • Strong, current acute care experience in a Med-Surg unit; prior charge RN experience in Med-Surg acute care preferred, or a minimum of two years as a staff RN on a Med-Surg unit — experience must be recent and current
    • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
    • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Schedule. Days (7a–7p) with rotating weekends and Nights (7p–7a) with rotating weekends.

    Compensation. $35.65 - $47.64/hr plus Sign-on bonus available
