RN - CVICU

Position: RN - CVICU
Department: TRANSPLANT ICU
Location: Milwaukee, WI 53226
Duration: 13.5 Weeks
Start Date: 09/28/2026
End Date: 12/31/2026
Shift: 3 × 12-hour nights; 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Schedule: 40 hours/week; every other weekend required; no on-call; float as needed.

Manager Notes:

• CVICU RN travelers who are trained on Balloon pump and Impella devices to work TICU.
• The TICU is currently official overflow for CVICU patients.
• The cardiac travelers will be utilized as support for staff on NOCs and may be needed to manage a device.
• These travelers will be needed until we successfully train enough TICU staff on the devices to support the need.

Required Experience:

• Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to area of employment.
• CVICU nursing experience.
• Balloon pump experience/training.
• Impella device experience/training.

Required License and Certification:

• Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact).
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA-approved equivalent.
• AHA HeartCode Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for healthcare providers or an AHA-approved equivalent.

Required Education:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse is a practitioner responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. This individual demonstrates competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population.
