
Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU RN)
Job Summary:
The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized, patient-centered nursing care to critically ill patients with cardiovascular and cardiothoracic conditions. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care, monitoring hemodynamic status, administering medications and advanced therapies, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or Compact RN License.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
CCRN certification preferred.
Recent CVICU, ICU, or critical care nursing experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for critically ill cardiovascular patients.
Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, ventilators, and other critical care equipment.
Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and advanced cardiac treatments.
Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
