    Job Description

    The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse Development Coordinator plays a key role in developing and supporting our nursing team by leading orientation, education, and professional development initiatives. This position works closely with nursing leadership and clinic managers to ensure staff are confident, competent, and equipped to provide high-quality patient care. The coordinator helps foster a culture of learning, mentorship, and continuous improvement while supporting nurses in practicing at the top of their license.

    What You'll Do

    • Lead and coordinate comprehensive onboarding and orientation programs for new nursing staff.

    • Oversee the nursing competency program, including initial training and annual competency evaluations.

    • Provide ongoing education, mentorship, and skill development opportunities for nurses.

    • Partner with clinic managers to support coaching, performance improvement, and professional growth.

    • Participate in recruiting activities, including interviews and job shadow opportunities.

    • Conduct documentation and risk management audits to support quality and compliance.

    • Deliver Bloodborne Pathogens training to new hires and annual training for staff.

    • Support quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement projects.

    • Collaborate with Human Resources and leadership on staff development, performance evaluations, and engagement initiatives.

    • Participate in leadership meetings, committees, and development programs to support organizational goals.

    What You'll Bring

    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or Illinois.

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

    • 5+ years of nursing experience, including experience with training, mentoring, or staff development.

    • Strong communication, leadership, and coaching skills.

    • Passion for developing others and improving patient care.
