Radius Rule: Permanent address must be > 50 miles from the facility.
Unit Culture: High emphasis on teamwork.
Unit Size: 34 beds / 32 vertical care areas
Volume: High-volume, fast-paced (200+ patients per day).
Patient Demographics: All ages (Adult & Pediatric).
Common Diagnoses: Stroke, chest/abdominal pain, respiratory illness, DM/DKA.
High-Acuity Needs: Heavy trauma stabilization (GSW, stabbings), heavy mental health, homeless, and drug/ETOH addicted populations.
RN / LPN Ratio: Variable (Typically 1:4)
CNA Ratio:1:20
On-Unit Support: CNA, Receptionist, Charge Nurse
Shift: 12-Hour Day Shift (0700 - 1900) | 36 hours per week
Schedule Cycle: 6-week rotation
Weekend Rule: Every Other Weekend (EOW)
On-Call: None required
Holidays: Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays.
Requested Time Off (RTO): Up to 6 days allowed (excludes holidays). Note: Contract may be extended to make up for missed hours.
Scrubs: Navy Blue

Mandatory Agreement: You must be willing to float across Region 1. Do not accept this contract if you are uncomfortable floating to the following sites:
Locations: Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, any Freestanding ED in the region, and the Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, Levine Children's Hospital).
Mid-Shift Floats: If moved mid-shift, you remain on the clock and are paid for travel time.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated ED RN experience. (First-time travelers considered but not preferred).
Required Certs: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI
Preferred Certs: TNCC
Cardiac rhythm interpretation
Critical care drip management
Peripheral IV (PIV) starts
TNK/TPA administration & conscious sedation
EMR: EPIC
IV Pumps: Alaris
Med Dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors: Phillips
Day 1: Nursing Employee Orientation (NEO)
Departmental: 2 days of on-unit orientation
