In accordance with our mission and core values, this position is established to serve as a consultant/resource professional by providing staff development expertise as an educator, facilitator, change agent, leader and researcher. The Perioperative Educator supports the development of the direct-care nurse and fosters nursing excellence through new knowledge and the delivery of evidence based practice. Facilitation of the educational process includes assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development. The Clinical Nurse Educator also serves as a role model for professional behavior. Teamwork is a vital component of patient care; therefore, incumbents will be expected to demonstrate their commitment to same through effective collaborative efforts.

Must demonstrate competence in all required skills. Able to deal effectively with patient care partners, patients, family members and physicians.
