Responsibilities
The Surgical and Procedural Services Nurse Educator will play a critical role in facilitating the professional development of Community Health Systems (CHS) surgical and/or perioperative nursing staff and ancillary staff, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety within our surgical services department. This position involves planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs, as well as providing mentorship to nurses. Additionally, the Nurse Educator will actively engage in patient care to maintain clinical competence.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) OR other healthcare-related Bachelors Degree required
Experience
5 years of experience in surgical and/or perioperative nursing, with demonstrated competence in various surgical specialties required
Experience in patient and staff education development and implementation, quality improvement, program development and professional development required
Licenses and Certifications
RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required
BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
Additional unit specific requirements required
