Job Summary

Are you an experienced RN looking to advance your career in a high-tech, fast-paced clinical environment? Join our team as an RN EP Lab Specialist. In this role, you will play a critical part in diagnosing and treating complex cardiac arrhythmias. You will work alongside elite Electrophysiologists and Cardiologists, utilizing state-of-the-art 3D mapping systems, intracardiac echo, and advanced monitoring equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Excellence & Procedure Support (70%)

  • Circulate & Scrub: Assist physicians using strict sterile techniques during EP studies and complex device implantations (Permanent Pacemakers, ICDs, and Bi-V-ICDs).

  • Advanced Technology Operation: Operate and troubleshoot specialized EP monitoring/stimulation systems, Intracardiac Echo (ICE), and 3D mapping systems.

  • Patient Advocacy & Care: Educate patients to alleviate fear and anxiety regarding invasive procedures; ensure continuous comfort and safety.

  • Emergency Intervention: Respond calmly and efficiently to emergency situations, administering medications, defibrillation, or other critical treatments as ordered.

  • Radiation Safety: Manage and monitor radiation exposure for patients and the medical team, adhering strictly to ALARA safety standards.

Lab Operations & Documentation (30%)

  • Data Integrity: Accurately log patient demographics and clinical data into physiological monitoring and X-ray equipment.

  • Care Transitions: Hand off precise patient data and reports to receiving inpatient units.

  • Administrative Operations: Manage patient billing documentation, update tracking systems, and assist with room restocking and inventory management.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Degree: Graduate from an accredited school or college of nursing. BSN is preferred (or required within 5 years of hire).

  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse.

  • Preferred Experience: Strong preference given to candidates with an RN background in High-Acuity Critical Care (ICU), Emergency Department (ED), or Cath Lab.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Carolina OR a current compact/multi-state license. (New grads with a BON temporary authorization must obtain their full license within 90 days).

  • Certifications: Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS credentials (must be maintained).

  • Preferred Credentials: RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) is highly desired.
