PeaceHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department.

Position Details

  • Schedule: Full-time (0.90 FTE), Nights
  • Pay Range: $45.78-$82.98 per hour
  • Pay is based on factors such as education, training, experience, seniority, and applicable union agreements.
  • This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement (union position).
  • Multiple openings may be available.

Hiring bonus and relocation assistance may be available.

What You'll Do

  • Assess, plan, provide, and evaluate patient care.
  • Document patient care accurately in the medical record.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to other healthcare team members.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, caregivers, patients, and families.
  • Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and development.
  • Follow hospital policies and participate in quality, safety, and infection prevention initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
  • At least one year of recent Emergency Department experience, or currently working independently in an ED setting.
  • Ability to independently care for:
  • Cardiac patients
  • Complex medical-surgical patients
  • Pediatric patients
  • Trauma patients

Preferred

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of age-specific patient care across all life stages.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
  • Ability to follow and support hospital policies and procedures.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Required Certifications After Hire

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): within 6 months
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): within 6 months
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification: within 6 months
  • TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course): within 12 months

Physical Requirements

  • Safely handle patients using proper equipment and procedures.
  • Push/pull medical equipment up to 45 lbs.
  • Perform CPR when needed.
  • Frequently bend, reach, kneel, squat, and move throughout the department.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to biohazards, body fluids, and airborne particles.
  • Ability to work in a busy, noisy environment.
  • Normal vision and hearing (with corrective devices if needed).
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
