Shift: Day | 7:00 AM–7:00 PM

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, every other weekend; weekend shifts based on departmental needs. 36 hours of orientation.

Pay Rate
Local: $55–60/hr, (as per experience)
Traveler: $58–62/hr (as per experience)

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Level I and/or Level II Trauma Center experience required.
• General Emergency Department experience with both adult and pediatric patients.
• EPIC experience required.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital, LTAC, and community hospital experience preferred.
• First-time travelers are accepted.

Required Skills

• 12-lead EKG/ECG.
• Phlebotomy, IV starts, and IV maintenance.
• Central line care and management.
• Blood product administration.
• Emergency medications and IV vasopressors.
• Continuous IV paralytics and sedation.
• Procedural sedation monitoring.
• BiPAP/CPAP and ventilator management.
• ABG interpretation and intubation.
• Chest tube management.
• CVA, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and hypothermia protocols.
• Orthopedic trauma and management of critical injuries.
• Pediatric emergency conditions including abdominal pain, infections, respiratory infections, and seizures.
• Management of psychiatric emergencies, drug overdoses, suicidal patients, and violent behavior.
• Isolation precautions and proper PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to neonates, infants, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.
• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring in a fast-paced Emergency Department.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments as ordered.
• Monitor and manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring, sedation, ventilatory support, and critical-care interventions.
• Perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs and recognize/manage dysrhythmias.
• Assist with trauma care, including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, orthopedic injuries, and neurological trauma.
• Monitor patients undergoing procedural sedation and other emergency procedures.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, medications, and outcomes accurately in EPIC.
• Collaborate with physicians, NPs, hospitalists, anesthesiologists, respiratory therapists, phlebotomy, IV teams, radiology, and other interdisciplinary staff.
• Provide appropriate patient/family communication and education.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, isolation precautions, and patient-safety protocols.
• Respond effectively to rapid changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
