Pay Rate
Local: $1,500 – $2,200/week (Based on Experience)
Traveler: $2,000 – $2,500/week (Based on Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a 13-week travel contract to provide safe, efficient care in a fast-paced 14-bed Emergency Department.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible to practice in New York.
Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department/ER nursing experience.
Current BLS certification.
Current ACLS certification.
Current TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification.
Strong emergency assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Proficiency with electronic medical records and medication-dispensing systems.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, including monitoring vital signs and changes in clinical condition.
Prioritize patient care based on acuity and emergency department protocols.
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
Initiate and assist with emergency interventions and procedures.
Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and clinical emergencies.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team.
Monitor patients throughout their ED stay and communicate significant changes promptly.
Provide patient and family education regarding treatment, medications, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and hospital policies and procedures.
Assist with patient transfers, admissions, discharges, and coordination of care.
Maintain a professional and compassionate approach while caring for patients and families.
