The RN Emergency Room provides professional nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, managing acute and critical patient situations, and collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
Implement, monitor, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and response to care interventions.
Serve as a primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.
Execute physician and nursing orders accurately and promptly.
Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Respond effectively to emergency situations using advanced clinical judgment and critical thinking.
Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in an Emergency Room or acute care setting.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Rhode Island (or compact state eligibility).
Certifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Required
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Preferred
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Preferred
Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills.
Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Proficiency in triage and emergency interventions.
Knowledge of current ER best practices, procedures, and equipment.
Pay Rate: $72.07 per hour (Contract, Pay-as-you-go)
Hospital-based Emergency Department setting.
Fast-paced and high-acuity environment.
May require standing for extended periods and handling critical situations.
Must comply with all hospital, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
