Responsibilities
Provide advanced emergency nursing care to acutely ill or injured patients.
Perform rapid assessments and triage to prioritize patient needs in ER.
Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders and protocols.
Monitor patient progress and respond to changes with escalating care as needed.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for patient treatment plans.
Document all patient information accurately in electronic medical records.
Lead or participate in rapid response and code events within the ER.
Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and quality standards.
Utilize performance metrics and care pipelines to optimize ER throughput.
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans.
Demonstrate ongoing professional development and pursue certification advancement.
Experience/Qualifications
Current RN license with valid state nursing registration.
Active emergency department or critical care nursing certification preferred (e.g., ENA, CEN).
BLS and ACLS certifications, PALS if required for pediatric emergencies.
Minimum 2 years ER/acute care nursing with rapid assessment and triage experience.
Strong clinical assessment skills, monitoring, and escalation of care as patient status changes.
Proficient in EHR documentation, order entry, and care plan documentation.
Ability to lead or participate in rapid response and code events with calm decisiveness.
Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and quality improvement processes.
Excellent communication and collaboration with physicians, teams, and families.
