RN (Employee Health)

Summary:

Varied – predominantly 7-3:30, 8-4:30, 9-5:30 Monday – Friday (several weekends)

Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of Relationship Centered Care and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards.
• Assess and evaluate patient care needs and apply critical thinking skills in patient care management.
• Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
• Prioritize all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning “after hospital care” and delegating to others as appropriate.
• Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
• Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing and demonstrate allocation of material resources effectively.
• Role model the tenets of Relationship Centered Care through various facilitative actions.
• Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family.
• Use evidence-based practices to increase understanding of patients' perceptions of care.
• Initiate service recovery for patients and family members who have concerns and escalate to appropriate management as needed.
• Demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening through dialogue, body language, and actions.
• Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.
• Implement process improvement strategies based on institutional, evidence-based protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice activities, and nursing research studies.
• Perform charge nurse duties as assigned.
• Coordinate with management to ensure supplies are appropriately utilized and inventory is sufficient for patient care.

Requirements:

• NYS RN License
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of medicine experience
• Minimum 2 years RN experience

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in vaccine administration
• EMR experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal manager oversight
• EPIC experience highly preferred
