Summary:

  • Varied shifts: predominantly 7-3:30, 8-4:30, 9-5:30, Monday – Friday (several weekends)
  • Location: Morningside and West

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of Relationship Centered Care and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
  • Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in patient care management.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
  • Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
  • Role model the tenets of Relationship Centered Care through various facilitation actions.
  • Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.
  • Engage in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes.
  • Perform charge nurse duties as assigned and coordinate with management to ensure adequate resources for patient care.
  • Contribute to the environment of care to support clinical colleagues, patients, and their families.

Requirements:

  • NYS RN License
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of medicine experience
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in vaccine administration
  • EMR experience
  • EPIC experience highly preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal manager oversight
