Responsibilities

  • Perform endoscopy RN duties with patient assessment before, during, and after procedures.

  • Monitor patient vitals, sedation levels, and post-procedure recovery in the endoscopy suite.

  • Document procedure details, patient data, and incident reports accurately in EHR.

  • Support privacy and confidentiality of patient information per regulatory standards.

  • Prepare and sterilize endoscopy equipment and maintain sterile field during procedures.

  • Assist physicians with procedure setup, positioning, and instrument handling.

  • Collaborate with team to meet departmental metrics and throughput targets.

  • Demonstrate continuous learning by staying current with endoscopy best practices and safety guidelines.

  • Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure expectations and aftercare instructions.

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

  • Assist with inventory management and supply utilization to optimize costs.


Experience/Qualifications

  • RN license with current state-specific endoscopy certification.

  • Adult/pediatric endoscopy nursing experience in procedural settings.

  • Vital signs monitoring, sedation assessment, and recovery in endoscopy suite.

  • Proficient documentation in EHR with incident reporting workflows.

  • Sterile processing, instrument handling, and sterile field maintenance.

  • Post-procedure patient education and clear aftercare instructions.

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and professionalism in fast-paced environments.

  • Quality improvement participation and adherence to safety guidelines.

  • Inventory management and supply utilization to optimize costs.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
