Maintain Patient Safety Qualifications Minimum Education: Required: All hires after July 2012 are required to have a Bachelors Degree in nursing OR if Associates Degree or Diploma, RN must provide proof of enrollment in a BSN program prior to hire, be continuously enrolled and complete within 5 years of hire date or internal RN promotion date. Associates Degree AND 2 years of experience in the specialty area will be accepted in lieu of BSN. Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation): Required: One year acute care experience. Preferred: At least one year of labor or level 2 nursery experience. License, Registry or Certification: Required: Current NJ RN licensure and American Heart Association CPR Certification. NRP certification is required within 6 months of hire or by completion of orientation. All staff that care for patients in the PACU must complete ACLS within 1 year of hire. Preferred: Certification in specialty. Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Required: AWHONN Fetal Monitoring is required by completion of orientation to Labor and Delivery or within 1 year of hire for experienced Labor nurses.
