What You'll Do
As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will:
- Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and the Colorado Nurse Practice Act.
- Assess, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Establish treatment priorities based on patient assessments and medical diagnoses.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond quickly with appropriate interventions.
- Safely administer medications and maintain accurate, timely documentation.
- Participate in developing and maintaining ICU standards of care.
- Perform and assist with specialized ICU procedures and treatments.
- Assess and support the physical, emotional, and educational needs of patients and their families.
- Provide patient and family education, including discharge planning.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to achieve the best patient outcomes.
- Promote patient safety while fostering positive communication and professional relationships throughout the organization.
- Serve in charge nurse responsibilities as assigned and provide guidance to nonprofessional staff.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification within 6 months of hire.
Preferred:
- Two years of critical care nursing experience.
- Telemetry experience.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
All required certifications and licensure must be obtained in accordance with the organization's Licensure and Certification Policy.

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift and move patients and equipment (40–80 lbs independently and up to 250 lbs with assistance).
- Operate specialized medical equipment, including monitors, infusion pumps, and computers.
- Perform clinical assessments requiring palpation, auscultation, and visual inspection.
- Hear and respond to patient needs and equipment alarms.
- Function effectively in a physically demanding and fast-paced critical care environment.
