Shift Schedule: 7p - 7a

Pay Rate: $59/HR ON W2

Summary:
The RN in the ICU is responsible for delivering competent and thorough patient care across a range of ages, from Pediatric to Geriatric. This role requires a deep understanding of clinical skills, patient assessment, documentation, and the ability to work within a team to ensure patient satisfaction and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Has competent knowledge of all the normal stages of growth and development from Pediatric to Geriatric and delivers patient care appropriately.
• Performs thorough assessments that are systematic, comprehensive, and accurate.
• Consistently demonstrates competent clinical skills.
• Performs direct patient care activities in support of patient care delivery and team concept.
• Provides competent and appropriate nursing care to the population of the unit.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skill of emergency equipment and procedures.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation.
• Demonstrates knowledge of documentation guidelines.
• Assumes primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patient's progress toward meeting outcomes in the patient's chart including patient education.
• Demonstrates professional practice responsibility.
• Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures and is able to identify areas for clinical and professional growth.
• Consistently responds to patient's/families and co-workers in a professional, courteous, positive manner to promote an environment where the patient and family is at the center and the patient care team works cooperatively toward their goal and objectives.
• Maintains confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
• Consistently follows the National Patient Safety Goals including following Universal Protocol and identifying patients utilizing 2 patient identifiers.
• Demonstrates use of safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for self, and patients.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures, and equipment encountered for surgical patients.
• Individualizes patient care according to the procedure and type of anesthesia across the continuum of care.
• Assesses patient reaction and understanding of procedure/instructions.
• Contributes to the perioperative team by assuming responsibility and accountability for directing patient care by prioritizing the care of patients depending on their needs and any changes in their condition.
• Assesses patient's understanding of surgical procedure/instructions, actively including the patient and family members in teaching.
• Performs pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education.
• Supports the completion of patient testing in a timely manner.
• Evaluates Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness and for potential omissions based on proposed surgery, patient age, and current state of health.

Required Skills:

• 1 year ICU experience - Required

Certifications & Licenses:

• RN License - Required
• BLS - Required
• ACLS - Required
