    Description

    Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Oconomowoc, WI

    = Location: Oconomowoc, Wisconsin
    < Facility: Level II Trauma Center | Primary Stroke Center | 91 Beds
    = Unit: 14-Bed ICU
    =R Shifts: Days (7:00 AM 7:00 PM) or Nights (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
    = Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
    First-Time Travelers: Accepted


    Position Requirements

    • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
    • Active RN license
    • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
    • TNCC preferred
    • EPIC experience required

    Patient Population

    Care for critically ill adult patients, including:

    • Sepsis, pneumonia, COVID, COPD, respiratory failure
    • Kidney and liver failure, GI bleeds, DKA
    • CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, post-cath patients
    • Trauma cases (falls, GSWs, stabbings)
    • Surgical patients (GYN, GI, GU)
    • Neurological conditions including TBI, CVA, TIA, and SDH
    • No cardiovascular surgery patients

    Required Skills

    • Ventilator and trach management
    • Chest tubes and drain management
    • Arterial lines, CVP monitoring, and invasive line care
    • Cardiac rhythm interpretation and strip measurement
    • Surgical recovery
    • Titration of sedation, pressors, cardiac drips, pain medications, and paralytics

    Preferred Experience:

    • EVDs
    • CVVH
    • IABP
    • Abdominal pressure monitoring

    Patient Ratios

    • Typical ratios: 1:1 to 1:3
    • Team nursing support provided for higher-acuity assignments

    Unit Support

    • Charge RN support
    • 1 2 CNAs per shift
    • RT, Hospitalists, and Intensivists available 24/7
    • Telemetry monitoring
    • OT/PT/ST services during daytime hours
    • Break buddy system

    Technology & Equipment

    • EMR: EPIC
    • IV Pumps: Alaris
    • Medication Dispensing: Pyxis

    Floating Requirements

    Travelers float first and may float within their scope of practice. Med-Surg/Tele or ED boarding assignments maintain a maximum 1:4 patient ratio.


    Orientation

    • Day 1: Facility orientation and unit training
    • Day 2: 12-hour precepted shift on the unit

    Additional Information

    • No on-call requirement
    • One holiday required per contract
    • Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved
