Job Summary and Responsibilities

In keeping with the Dignity Health core values, the Clinical Nurse III (CNIII) in L&D is an RN with advanced skills who is an expert in Obstetric nursing care and is also capable of directing/coaching other L&D staff in the daily operations of the unit. The CNIII facilitates the smooth operation of the nursing unit. The CNIII acts as a mentor, preceptor, and resource for the Clinical Nurse I and II, as well as other staff members. The CNIII provides advanced consultation to other units and hospital staff regarding antepartum, intrapartum, and immediate postpartum patient care problems. This position is represented by SEIU, Local 121RN, and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements: • Three (3) to five (5) years current Labor & Delivery experience • Current CA RN license • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications • Circulating for cesarean delivery experience required • Certification in fetal monitoring required within one (1) year of employment • Evidence of lactation support education required within one (1) year of employment

Preferred: • Spanish speaking experience • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing • Obstetrics specialty certification
