RN - Infusion

Job title: RN - Infusion
Location: Winston-Salem North, NC
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 8hr Day Shift - 40, M-F 8:10am - 5 Pm

About Facility:
o Hematology and Oncology Outpatient Clinic
o Located on the 3rd floor of the Cancer Center. Infusions on one side and the providers/exam rooms on the other
o 1 Medical Center Blvd. Winston-Salem, NC 27157

Unit Information:
o Beds: 60 infusion chairs
Census- Average patients/day- 125 per day
o Minimum Years of Experience required- 1 year in oncology/infusion setting
o Will you accept a first-time traveler- Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o All types of cancer patients
o Adults

Patient Ratios:
o Depending on which pod assigned. Ratios will never be over 1:4

Required License, National Certification, Certs:
o BLS, Chemo/Bio certification required

Skills required:
o Administration of anti-neoplastic agents, port access, IV start skills, knowledge of Chemo/Immunotherapy side effects and how to manager

Support within the Department:
o Leadership – Manager, Supervisor
o RNs
o LPNs
o MAs
o MDs
o Lab on site
o Radiology on site

Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC/Encompass

Floating: If yes, where-
o No

Orientation (facility and unit):
o NEO
o Typically 1 week of unit orientation

Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: none
o On call- If so, what is that schedule- none
o Holiday Expectations: closed on holidays
o Should approval of RTO go through manager or will you allow the interviewing team (if applicable) to approve time off on your behalf-
o Shift times: Monday – Friday, 0830-1700
