Procedures performed in the cath lab include the following left and right heart catheterizations along with percutaneous intervention as necessary intracoronary ultrasound rotational atherectomy balloon pump insertion Impella insertion valvuloplasty left atrial appendage closure catheter-directed thrombolysis for pulmonary embolization structural procedures TAVITAVR neurovascular cerebral angiograms stroke treatment carotid stenting treatment of cerebral aneurysms with coiling and pipeline interventions peripheral and renal angiograms with intervention as necessary Watchmen CardioMEMs and Electrophysiology cardiac devices ablations PVIs laser lead extractions. RNs in the Cath Lab have the opportunity to train in different specialties including electrophysiology stroke and interventional radiology. Bachelors Degree in nursing preferred. Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring andor possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact NLC state.
