The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care using the nursing process. The RN assesses patients, develops and implements individualized care plans, evaluates outcomes, and coordinates care with physicians and the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive clinical assessments and identify patient and family needs.
Develop, implement, evaluate, and modify individualized plans of care.
Provide safe, evidence-based, and quality patient care.
Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to physicians and the care team.
Promote patient and family education, health promotion, and disease prevention.
Advocate for patient rights, dignity, privacy, autonomy, and individual preferences.
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
Delegate appropriate tasks according to the Texas Nursing Practice Act and staff competencies.
Participate in quality improvement, shared governance, and professional development activities.
Maintain accurate electronic medical documentation and follow hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Provide care with sensitivity to patients' cultural, spiritual, socioeconomic, age, and individual needs.
