Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care to women and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. The RN will monitor maternal and fetal conditions, administer medications and treatments, assist with deliveries, and collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and recognize signs of fetal distress.
Provide nursing care during all stages of labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
Assist physicians and other healthcare providers during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
Provide immediate care and support for newborns as appropriate.
Recognize and respond promptly to obstetric and neonatal emergencies.
Provide patient and family education regarding labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
Monitor patients for complications and communicate changes in condition to the healthcare team.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, neonatal staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
1+ year of recent L&D experience within the last 3 years
Active California RN license
BLS – Required
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required
AWHONN certification – Required
