Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery

Location: Eureka, CA 95501
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night | 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
Schedule: 3x12 Hours | 36 Hours/Week
Local Candidates: Accepted
Traveler Candidates: Accepted
First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Weekend Requirement: Yes, based on staffing needs

Pay Rate:
Local: $66–$71/hr
Traveler: $66–$71/hr

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience — Required
• Current and valid California RN license — Required
• Pending California licenses are not accepted
• Labor & Delivery experience — Required
• Postpartum experience — Preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Strong clinical assessment and patient-care skills
• Experience working in a high-risk OB environment
• Ability to circulate during Cesarean sections
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to float within scope based on facility needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients
• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal conditions
• Provide care for high-risk OB patients
• Assist with labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Circulate during Cesarean sections
• Monitor patients and identify changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments according to orders and facility protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Provide patient and family education and support
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Float to appropriate assignments within scope as required
• Provide safe, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered care
• Work rotating weekends based on staffing needs
