Job Summary
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and family.
Effectively communicate pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team.
Participate in finding solutions for variances from patient goals.
Ensure implementation of identified solutions.
Provide professional nursing services within the Labor & Delivery and Postpartum areas.
Provide care according to established nursing standards and practices.
Collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and hospital personnel.
Support patient care across Labor & Delivery and Postpartum assignments.
Qualifications
Required
Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans within the unit/department to which staff is assigned.
Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
Cross-trained in Postpartum and Delivery.
Ability to care for patients in both Labor & Delivery and Postpartum settings.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
BLS certification.
NRP certification.
Fetal Heart Monitor certification.
Working Conditions
Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
