About the Role:
As an RN, LPN, or Medical Assistant in Family Practice at Quincy Medical Group, you will provide primary day-to-day clinical support to our Family Practice providers. You will work closely with providers to support patient flow, clinical documentation, care coordination, and the daily needs of a busy primary care practice.
You will also be an active member of a collaborative pod care team, which includes helping with cross-coverage for other providers when needed and supporting patient access across the pod. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships with patients and a dedicated provider while also having the flexibility to step in and support the larger team.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- No nights or weekends.
- Fast-paced primary care environment serving patients with a wide variety of healthcare needs.
- This role requires flexibility and the ability to adjust priorities as patient volumes, provider needs, and team coverage change throughout the day.
Primary Responsibilities
- Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, review medical histories, reconcile medications, and prepare patients for examinations.
- Assist with examinations, treatments, procedures, and other clinical duties within scope of practice.
- Respond to patient calls and messages, coordinate medication refills, and assist with follow-up care.
- Coordinate referrals, laboratory testing, imaging, and other ancillary services as directed by the provider.
- Provide patient education and reinforce provider instructions regarding medications, treatments, preventive care, and follow-up needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Monitor patient needs and communicate changes or concerns to the provider using appropriate clinical judgment.
- Provide cross-coverage for other providers and care teams within the pod as patient volumes and staffing needs change.
- Support patient access initiatives and collaborate with the care team to help patients receive timely, efficient care.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Family Practice operations.
Qualifications
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required for nursing candidates.
- High school diploma or GED required for Medical Assistant candidates.
- Medical Assistant certification preferred for MA candidates.
- CPR certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Previous primary care, family practice, or ambulatory clinical experience preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with providers, patients, and other members of the care team.
- Adaptability and willingness to move between dedicated provider support and shared team responsibilities.
- Ability to multitask and adjust priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range $16.12 -$24.18 per hour for Medical Assistants, $18.66 - $27.99 per hour for LPNs, and$25.00 - $37.50 per hour for RNsdetermined by licensure, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
