Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager L&D has the direct-line responsibility for day-to-day operations and overall responsibility for the nursing department, ensuring that employees have effective management, good communication and appropriate discipline. The Manager ensures that the charge nurse fulfills their responsibilities as front-line supervisors. The Manager is responsible on a 24-hour basis for the coordination of patient care, administrative and nursing activities. The Manager is responsible on a 24-hour basis for the quality of nursing care provided to our patients. The Manager is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of all nursing care and related activities. This includes, but is not limited to, the management of clinical nursing practice, staff recruitment, retention, labor relations, supply chain and budget, staffing, employee performance evaluation, quality improvement, staff education, medical records, internal and external regulatory and survey requirements.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Current unencumbered South Carolina or Multistate Compact Registered Nurse License required
  • Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications upon hire required
  • NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider-required on hire or new transfer 
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring required upon hire
  • STABLE certification taken 1 time within 90 days of hire or transfer
  • Specialty certification highly preferred within 3 years of hire
  • Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN preferred
  • 3+ years of applicable RN experience required; 1+ years of supervisory/leadership experience required
