RN - Med Surg

7:00 PM 7:00 AM: Worker must be willing to float to an equal or lower-acuity unit if requested. Block scheduling is not available. The site will try to schedule shifts consecutively but cannot guarantee the same days each week.

Job Summary

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient care and education for patients and families. Effectively communicates pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team, participates in identifying solutions to variances from patient goals, and ensures implementation of appropriate interventions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg RN experience
• Current, active Michigan (MI) RN license
• BLS certification from AHA
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills to develop and implement effective nursing care plans
• Ability to perform a wide range of professional nursing services
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and hospital staff

Preferred

• Med Surg experience at a Level II Trauma facility

Contract & Schedule

• 13-week contract

• Block scheduling is NOT available
• The facility will attempt to schedule shifts consecutively but cannot guarantee the same days each week
• May be required to float to the lockdown unit to care for general Med Surg patients. Candidates should be made aware of this requirement before submission.
