Pay Rate: $70 – $73/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Step Down / Med-Surg Tele RN to provide direct nursing care, monitor cardiac rhythms, and care for patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions.

Required Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN License or Compact State RN License in hand.

• Minimum 12 months of permanent experience in the specialty.

• AHA or client BLS Certification.

• ACLS and NIHSS Certifications.

• Strong Med/Surg Tele / Step Down experience.

• Ability to care for the same patient population across multiple units as needed.

• Willingness to work rotating day/night shifts and at least every other holiday.

• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate assessments during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in Med/Surg Tele and Step Down settings.

• Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor changes in patient condition.

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize abnormal ECG patterns.

• Administer medications and treatments according to orders and hospital protocols.

• Monitor vital signs, telemetry, oxygenation, and other clinical parameters.

• Care for patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions.

• Float to designated units, including J1-2, J33, and the Emergency Department, as needed.

• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.

• Respond to changes in patient status and escalate concerns appropriately.

• Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, and disease management.

• Maintain accurate patient documentation and follow infection-control and patient-safety policies.

• Complete required ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate assessments.
