Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
Job Summary
Provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients on a general medical-surgical unit, managing a variety of diagnoses and post-surgical recovery needs. Coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team to promote patient safety, recovery, and successful discharge planning.
Education & Experience
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
• Prior med-surg or acute care nursing experience (Preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
• Current RN license in state of practice (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
Key Responsibilities
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care.
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders and unit protocols.
• Monitors patients for changes in condition and intervenes or escalates care as appropriate.
• Provides wound care, post-surgical monitoring, and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Educates patients and families on disease management, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and patient response in the medical record.
