About the Role

We're hiring experienced Registered Nurses (RN) for a 3-month onsite Float Pool assignment supporting Medical/Surgical units at a healthcare facility in Warwick, Rhode Island.

This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple medical and surgical units within a dynamic healthcare environment while providing high-quality patient care during overnight shifts. Float pool assignments provide exposure to diverse patient populations, clinical workflows, and interdisciplinary care teams.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Medical/Surgical RN who is adaptable, clinically strong, and comfortable working across multiple unit environments while maintaining excellent patient care standards.

Compensation

  • Pay Rate: $68.79/hour

What You'll Do

Patient Care & Clinical Assessment

  • Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans
  • Assess patient conditions and provide comprehensive nursing care
  • Monitor and communicate patient status changes appropriately
  • Respond to acute and changing patient situations
  • Deliver compassionate care to patients and families

Care Coordination

  • Coordinate interdisciplinary patient care across multiple units
  • Collaborate with:

    • Physicians
    • Specialists
    • Nursing teams
    • Support staff
  • Facilitate communication between healthcare disciplines
  • Coordinate specialty services and consultations as needed

Clinical Execution

  • Carry out physician and nursing orders
  • Administer medications and treatments
  • Perform clinical procedures and interventions
  • Monitor patient response to treatment
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
  • Ensure strong clinical accuracy and attention to detail

Discharge Planning & Patient Education

  • Coordinate discharge planning and transition-of-care needs
  • Provide patient and family education
  • Support follow-up care coordination
  • Communicate discharge requirements with healthcare teams

Float Pool Responsibilities

  • Adapt quickly to different clinical units and workflows
  • Support varying patient populations and care protocols
  • Maintain flexibility across assignments based on clinical need
  • Communicate effectively with multiple healthcare teams
  • Support unit-specific operational requirements

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience required
  • Medical/Surgical nursing background required
  • Critical care experience preferred
  • Float pool or multi-unit nursing experience preferred
  • Traveler or contract nursing experience a plus

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Rhode Island RN License required
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Current CPR Certification required
  • ACLS Certification preferred
  • PALS Certification preferred

Technical Skills

  • Experience with EHR and nursing documentation systems
  • Familiarity with hospital and medical/surgical equipment
  • Strong clinical technology proficiency
  • Ability to adapt quickly across unit workflows and systems
