RN Medical Surgical (NIGHTS)

Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care in a medical/surgical setting- Perform various nursing procedures including but not limited to spinal tap, gastric lavage, airway management, and ostomy care- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians- Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting observations and interventions- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans- Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth to document patient information accurately

Requirements:- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [location]- Minimum of 1 full year of experience in a medical/surgical setting- Proficient in medical coding and documentation practices- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures including DME, mammography, neonatal ventilator, etc.- Ability to provide comprehensive care to patients across the lifespan, from newborns to geriatric patients- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
