Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to patients on-site.

  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure secure medication handling.

  • Assess patient conditions, document findings, and monitor progress regularly.

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation to support performance visibility.

  • Adhere to policy, compliance, and safety standards in all care activities.

  • Meet performance targets using unit benchmarks and quality metrics.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary team to plan and adjust patient care plans.

  • Proactively engage in continuous learning and pursue professional development.

  • Support shift handoffs with clear communication and thorough briefings.

  • Demonstrate accountability for own results while contributing to team success.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to boost efficiency and outcomes.

  • Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions.


Experience/Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current license to practice Med/Surg in applicable state.

  • Experience administering medications and secure handling on med/surg units.

  • Strong patient assessment and timely progress documentation skills.

  • Excellent handoff communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary team.

  • Knowledge of safety, compliance, and policy adherence in nursing care.

  • Proficiency with electronic health records and unit-based documentation.

  • Ability to meet performance targets using unit benchmarks and metrics.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.

  • Patient and family education skills on care plans, medications, and discharge.

  • Ability to identify workflow/process improvements to boost efficiency.
