Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours/Week
Weekend Rotation: 6 shifts required within a 6-week schedule
Holiday Requirements: Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays

Orientation: 3 Days total (1 day facility/modules + 2 days departmental)
We are seeking a highly adaptable, clinical strong MedSurg/Tele Registered Nurse for a travel contract at a premier 637-bed Level 1 Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital in Macon, GA.
In this role, you will operate in a float pool capacity, moving across multiple dynamic MedSurg/Telemetry units (ranging from 20–36 beds per unit) and floating to the Emergency Department (ED) to manage boarders/holds. This is a fast-paced, busy, and team-oriented environment suited for nurses with sharp assessment skills and excellent time management.
EMR: EPIC (Minimum 6 months of recent EPIC experience is strictly required)
IV Pumps: Alaris
Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
Telemetry Monitors: Phillips (Supported by a Central Telemetry Unit)
Unit Equipment: VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips
Required Drips: Insulin, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Milrinone, Digoxin, and Nicardipine. (Note: Drip titration is permitted for Heart Rate management, but NOT for Blood Pressure).
Manage a 1:4 to 1:6 patient ratio on acute, high-acuity MedSurg and Telemetry units.
Provide comprehensive care for patients presenting with acute/chronic diseases, co-morbidities (diabetes, HTN, electrolyte imbalances), post-cath cardiac issues, CHF, A-fib, and post-surgical recovery (General, Ortho, Trauma).
Demonstrate strong tele skills: monitoring/interpreting rhythms, managing TR bands, and post-cath groin site management (No sheath pulls required).
Perform advanced skills including trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts/maintenance, and Glucommander protocols.
Draw blood samples directly from Central Venous Lines (CVLs); standard phlebotomy is handled via lab collection.
Lead care coordination, comprehensive patient education, and thorough discharge planning.
CNAs on Unit: Assist with vitals, fingersticks, baths, linen changes, feeding, turning, and ambulating patients. Ratio up to 1:14.
Unit Secretary: On-unit support from 7:00 AM–11:00 PM; house-wide call secretary available 11:00 PM–7:00 AM.
Charge Nurse: Readily available (may or may not take a patient assignment).
Specialized Teams: 24/7 RT, 24/7 Hospitalists, 24/7 Intensivists, Dedicated PICC Team, and Float Resource/Discharge Nurses.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated MedSurg/Tele RN experience. First-time travelers are accepted if they possess a strong clinical background.
Licensure: Active Georgia or Compact RN License.
Certifications: BLS required. ACLS preferred.
Onboarding Note: Travelers are required to pass an EKG competency exam during facility onboarding. MedSurg certification is considered a plus.
Scrub Policy: Strict color coding — Navy Blue for RNs.
