Travel RN – Progressive Care / Telemetry (Nights)
Location: Concord, NC
Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
Shift: 12-Hour Nights (1845 – 0715) | 36 Hours/Week
Duration: 13 Weeks (Standard)

Join a professional, team-oriented unit in Concord, NC, as it transitions into a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). We are seeking an experienced, adaptable RN who is comfortable managing intermediate-acuity patients, interpreting cardiac rhythms, and titrating drips.
Schedule: 6-week schedule cycle; every other weekend rotation.
No Call: Enjoy your time off with zero on-call requirements.
Time Off: Up to 6 days of requested time off (RTO) can be approved (excluding holidays).

Hospital: 457-bed, Level III Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital, and Stroke/Chest Pain/Bariatric Center of Excellence.
Unit Size: 14 private rooms.
Patient Ratios:
PCU: 1:4
Med/Surg/Tele Overflow: 1:4–6 (acuity dependent; rare surge up to 1:7–8).
Common Diagnoses: Heart failure, chest pain, fluid resuscitation/blood products, COPD, and pre/post-cardiac cath.
Experience: Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience. (First-time travelers cannot be accepted for this role).
Licenses/Certs: Active RN License, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
Radius Rule: Permanent address must be 50+ miles away from the facility.
Clinical Skills: PIV starts, NG tube placement/management, Pleurx and surgical drain management, chest tubes, TR bands, and cardiac rhythm interpretation.
Drip Management: Comfort with both non-titratable and titratable cardiac drips.
Technology: Epic EMR, Alaris IV Pumps, Omnicell Med Dispensing, and Phillips Monitors.

CNAs trained in phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs, and Glucometers to assist with ADLs and mobility.
A dedicated IV/VAT Team.
24/7 Respiratory Therapy and Hospitalist coverage.
A dedicated Charge Nurse to support workflow.
Note: Telemetry is remotely monitored 24/7 by an off-unit arrhythmia center, with visual monitor displays available at the nurse's station.
Travelers may float within Region 1 facilities based on scope of practice (includes Atrium Health Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division/CMC Main/Mercy/LCH).
