Night Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
36 Hours per Week
The RN MedSurg/Telemetry is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care by monitoring, assessing, and treating patients with cardiac and general medical conditions. This role requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient outcomes. The RN will manage patient care plans, monitor telemetry systems, and support patients through recovery and discharge processes.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Excellence
Provide direct patient care using nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
Monitor cardiac telemetry and patient conditions
Administer medications and treatments
Educate patients on diagnosis, medications, and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate documentation in EHR
Clinical Monitoring & Intervention
Assess physiological and psychosocial changes in patient conditions
Perform interventions based on care plans and priorities
Collect blood specimens for diagnostic testing
Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols
Collaboration & Leadership
Work closely with physicians and healthcare teams
Supervise and guide unlicensed assistive personnel
Participate in interdisciplinary care planning
Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with regulatory and hospital standards
Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Support patient safety and care excellence programs
Must-Have Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing (Required)
Active RN License (Illinois)
BLS Certification (AHA Required)
Minimum 1 2 years of clinical nursing experience
Ability to work flexible shifts
Preferred Qualifications
BSN or currently enrolled in BSN program
Experience in MedSurg or Telemetry units
Strong cardiac monitoring experience
