Under the general supervision of the Cardiovascular Services Director, Manager and CV Prep and Recovery Supervisor, the RN liaison communicates with cardiovascular services department personnel and physicians in order to meet the informational needs of patients and families having a cardiac procedural and/or surgical experience. The liaison assumes the primary responsibility for keeping patients and families informed of progress through the procedural process, and provides comfort care to patients and their family members. The liaison utilizing age appropriate guidelines to effectively interact. The incumbent must exemplify professionalism in dealing with confidential medical information and must possess excellent customer relations skills. The RN Liaison will lead the scheduling of CV procedures/testing in addition to providing efficient clerical duties under the direction of the CV leadership team. Routine contacts include patients, physicians, hospital staff, outside health agencies, and the community. Responsible for ensuring the schedule runs smoothly and addresses issues related to this by checking cases scheduled by schedulers for accuracy, identify potential conflicts, troubleshoots issues that arise and confirms appropriateness of each procedure/tests being scheduled. Assures cases scheduled are consistent with appointment build forms and physician orders. Works with CV leadership to coordinate meetings with physicians, office staff and others as needed when need identified. Responsible for coordination with vendors for clinical support when applicable while scheduling cases. The RN Liaison provides administrative services necessary for the care of the patient, and in support of the mission of Research Medical Center throughout the continuum of their visit from pre to post care.
What qualifications you will need:
Licensure/Certifications: Must hold a current RN license from the Missouri Division of Professional Registration or an active compact license. American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS required upon hire. American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
Experience: One year of cardiac telemetry, EP lab, Cath lab, procedural or surgical prep and recovery or ICU experience preferred Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
