Job Details:
• Provide nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex in a hospital setting
• Stroke experience and NIHSS are both preferred . Will need to precept and possibly work in the virtual room. This is a Stroke and Neuro floor. They also have ortho and spine patients. We are a comprehensive stroke center. Ratios 3:1 SD patients and 5:1 all other patients.
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient manifestations and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Initiate, regulate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Interact with family and patients regarding care plans during hospitalization and at discharge
• Make referrals for patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Required certifications: Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License (eNLC), BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
• Computer skills and ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients
