Registered Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Job Summary
Provides specialized nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit. Monitors and manages complex care needs including respiratory support, thermoregulation, and nutrition, while supporting families through the NICU experience.
Education & Experience
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
• Minimum 1-2 years of NICU or pediatric critical care nursing experience (Preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
• Current RN license in state of practice (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (Required)
• Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNC-NIC) (Preferred)
Key Responsibilities
• Provides continuous monitoring and care for premature and critically ill neonates.
• Manages respiratory support, including ventilators, CPAP, and oxygen therapy.
• Administers medications and IV therapy with precision dosing for neonatal patients.
• Supports thermoregulation, feeding, and developmental care needs of NICU infants.
• Educates and supports families throughout their infant's NICU stay.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and infant response in the medical record.
