Registered Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Job Summary
Provides specialized nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns in a neonatal intensive care setting. Performs continuous assessment and monitoring, manages respiratory and nutritional support, and administers weight-based medications and therapies. Supports families through education and involvement in the infant's plan of care.
Education & Experience
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing: Required
• Neonatal intensive care nursing experience: Required
Licenses & Certifications
• Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification: Required
Key Responsibilities
• Assess and continuously monitor premature and critically ill neonates.
• Manage respiratory support, including ventilated infants and advanced airway devices.
• Administer weight-based medications, IV fluids and parenteral or enteral nutrition.
• Recognize and respond to neonatal emergencies and participate in delivery room resuscitation.
• Maintain a developmentally appropriate and thermoregulated environment for each infant.
• Educate and support families and involve them in the infant's plan of care.
