Be the steady hand on the unit. As a Nurse Supervisor, you coordinate care, mentor the team, and keep the milieu calm, safe, and moving forward—no matter what the shift brings —providing a calm, vigilant presence while others rest.
How You Will Make a Difference
- Serve as on‑shift clinical leader: assign staff, prioritize admissions/discharges, and coordinate with intake and ED transfers.
- Support RNs/LPNs with assessments, med administration, restraint/seclusion per policy, and timely documentation.
- Lead real‑time de‑escalation and code responses; ensure post‑event debriefs and learning.
- Validate rounds, safety checks, and environment‑of‑care standards; escalate facilities/security needs.
- Precept new hires and students; champion competencies and policy adherence.
- Ensure continuity of care overnight with vigilant observation and timely documentation.
- Manage after‑hours admissions and urgent needs; prepare a thorough handoff to the day team.
What We’re Looking For
- Active RN license; BSN preferred.
- 2+ years inpatient psych or emergency psych experience; prior charge experience a plus.
- Calm communicator with strong critical‑thinking skills.
- Must be 21 or older
